Proposed Documents to Bring to Family Financial Mediations

Documents for Family Financial Mediations

If possible, bring these documents with you to your mediation settlement conference:

  1. Your most recent pay income statement or other written evidence of your current income.
  2. Your most recent federal and state income tax returns.
  3. Information showing the identity and costs of any health insurance that you have which covers you and your minor child or children.
  4. Information showing the nature and costs of any work-related child care that you currently have, if any.
  5. For each debt that you have, including mortgage and credit card debt, a copy of that debt’s monthly statement nearest in time to your marital separation as well as the most recent statement.
  6. A copy of each deed for real estate that you and/or your spouse have an interest in as well as any appraisal or recent tax valuation that you have regarding the property.
  7. For any business that you own or are involved in, a copy of any existing document which shows the nature and value of your or your spouse’s ownership interest in that business.
  8. For any retirement account that you have, a statement showing the value of that account nearest in time to your marital separation as well as the most recent statement.
  9. For any bank account, investment account, stocks, bonds or other similar accounts that you or your spouse have, a statement showing the value of that account nearest in time to your marital separation as well as the most recent statement.
  10. A statement showing the value as of the time of your separation and currently of any motor vehicle or other significant item of personal property owned by you or your spouse.
  11. For any rental property that you and/or your spouse have, a record of all income and expenses for that property for the six months prior to your separation and since that date.
